UCI Diabetes Prevention Program

In partnership with the UC Healthy Campus Network, UCI HR Wellness, and UCI Health Ambulatory, UCI employees that have pre-diabetes or are at risk for developing diabetes can learn healthy living habits that can help beat the odds.

This year-long Center for Disease (CDC) recognized Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) has proven to reduce the risk of diabetes. The program will follow the Prevent T2 Curriculum and is FREE to all qualified UCI employees.

Classes will be taught at UCI Health locations in Orange and Irvine. 

The upcoming schedule for classes starting February 3, 2020 are as follows and subject to change:

  • Tuesdays at Orange Medical Center - 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
  • Thursdays at Gottschalk Medical Plaza, Irvine - 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m

The UCI Diabetes Prevention Program is a preventive program, and not designed for those that already have Type I or II Diabetes. If you are currently a Diabetic, please work directly with your physician and medical plan to learn ways and resources to help you manage your existing condition.
